Waterjet-grade and sandblasting-grade almandine garnet from Tamil Nadu's beach placers — high density, consistent grain, low dust, superior cutting performance.
Garnet — almandine ((Fe,Mg)3Al2(SiO4)3) — is the premier natural abrasive for waterjet cutting and surface-preparation blasting. Hardness 7.5-8 on the Mohs scale, specific gravity 4.0, and near-zero free silica make it the only abrasive of choice where operator-safety matters.
VAMM sources directly from the heavy-mineral beach placers of Tamil Nadu (Manavalakurichi, Chavara coastline) — the richest garnet deposits in Asia. Grades calibrated to 20, 30, 40, 60 and 80 mesh for both waterjet and dry blast applications.
Supplied in PP, HDPE, and jumbo bags — dry, clean, and dust-free.
Abrasive for waterjet cutting of steel, stone, glass and composites — the most common use.
Surface preparation for ships, bridges, pipelines — replaces hazardous silica sand with silica-free grit.
Multi-media water filter beds — high density gives better solids retention than silica sand.
Coated abrasive for wood finishing and sanding paper — consistent grit performance.
Proppant for hydraulic fracturing and downhole abrasive slurry applications.
Precision polishing and finishing of metal castings, optics and electronics components.
Coarsest grade — heavy-deposit removal, industrial surface prep, ship-yard blasting.
All-purpose waterjet grade — heavy cutting of thick steel and stone.
Bread-and-butter waterjet grade — the most widely specified size for general cutting.
Precision-cutting grade — thin materials, intricate geometry, superior edge quality.
Ultra-fine grade for precision blasting, polishing and optical-component finishing.
Graded coarse-to-fine for multi-media water filters — high bulk density, low pressure-drop.
Every batch tested for particle-size distribution (PSD), bulk density, hardness, moisture, free silica and chloride. Waterjet-grade guarantees: free silica <0.5%, chloride <50ppm, moisture <0.5%.
Branded packaging and per-bag traceability for export shipments to US, Europe, Middle East and Southeast Asia.
Specific gravity 4.0 — denser grains cut faster, consume less abrasive per metre of cut.
Narrow PSD band per mesh — no oversize particles to clog waterjet mixing tubes.
Washed and dried to <0.5% fines — minimal operator exposure, clean work environment.
Free silica below 0.5% — a genuinely OSHA-compliant replacement for silica sand blasting.
Chloride below 50ppm — essential for stainless steel and aerospace-grade blasting.
Waterjet garnet can be recovered and reused 2-3 cycles — material economics stay attractive.
