Garnet — almandine ((Fe,Mg)3Al2(SiO4)3) — is the premier natural abrasive for waterjet cutting and surface-preparation blasting. Hardness 7.5-8 on the Mohs scale, specific gravity 4.0, and near-zero free silica make it the only abrasive of choice where operator-safety matters.
VAMM sources directly from the heavy-mineral beach placers of Tamil Nadu (Manavalakurichi, Chavara coastline) — the richest garnet deposits in Asia. Grades calibrated to 20, 30, 40, 60 and 80 mesh for both waterjet and dry blast applications.
